Done..but sad:(

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Call the schools you are interested in and ask them about QR. Otherwise your scores seem okay. If you have the tenacity, suck it up and retake it.

math is normally an easy process for me if i had a CALCULATOR!!! but yah, it was tough. there was a few trig questions and they were simple. for me it was the time factor.

Hey, congrats on even getting to this point, but like lifeisgood said, you should call the schools & see what they say, heh, now you have me all curious about that 2-celled embryo question. Just like them to throw another curveball, just when I thought I had my stuff down, ::sighs::

honestly i think your scores are fine. they might not get you into the best school, but they will definately get you in somewhere.. they arent terrible either. I wouldn't retake it. Your science scores are fine and i don't really think they are going to care that much about the QR.. so what if you can't count all of your money in the bank when you're  a dentist.

thank you guys for all your input! appreciate it. i decided not to retake it and see how it goes with this cycle. if for some reason i don't get in i will take it again. I am calling all my schools today to see if can muster. so fingers crossed.

Hey my scores are very similar

Bio 19
gchem 17
ochem 20
pat 19
qr 14
rc 17
ts 19
aa 17

Hopefully we can get it! You know what is weird though, i know about 10 people who are pretty smart that have gotten 14's on the math...weird huh? One guy got a 21 21 19aa and his aa was brought down because of a 14 on math...weird

So I took the darn thing today and didn't do as well as I thought or wanted to.

PAT 18
RC 19
QR 14
BIO 19
GC 17
OC 21
TS 19
AA 18

UrG! It is very frusturating because the 3 kaplan tests I took prior to the exam I was getting above a 20 on all sections (except for math b/c i just suck at it) But honestly both of my TS/AA on those tests were 23-24.

When I got there I had a miny panic attack and my hands were erratic. It got worse when I started the test b/c literally the first 10 questions on bio were things I never even crossed studying! stuff to do with what is a cardiac output, what occurs when 2 cell embroyo has something done to it, and more heart stuff. not cool. After that I thought and felt that i got a 15 on my science section. I was really surprised with my RC and PAT. b/c those are my stongest points and well they weren't here. I had asteroids, brain scan techniques, and glutamate receptor stuff. I was dissappointed with PAT mostly with the paper folding which should have been the easiest section but the holes were all over the place and didn't match up.

The worst part is doing worse than the practice tests. Now everyone asks this and i will too. besides the 14 are these decent or should i truly contemplate retaking the thing to get higher scores?

p.s. While Kaplan is a good base, I really think it would be to the studiers best advantage to get outsource another book. Kaplan covers the bair minimum. just my 2cents

Hey Cotarina,

Don't be sad! I think I took the exact same version of the test as you. I had the same three reading comp sections, and the bio was just like you said -- many questions of stuff I've never seen before. I had the 2 cell thing -- the question was what would happen if you split a fertilized egg that had begun its division and was at the 2 cell stage. I put that you would get 2 of the same embryos, both with the same amount of cytoplasm (or something like that). My scores were very similar to yours:

PAT 19
RC 19
QR 26
BIO 18
GC 19
OC 21
TS 19
AA 21

Good luck! See you on the other side!

Wow, that math is a killer for so many! The rest of your scores are solid, though. Time to enjoy the ride! 🙂
