Hi all,

I just done with the DAT today and thought to post the scores here to see whether you guys think if the scores are competitive enough. Personally, I don't plan to retake again, I'm quite satisfy with the scores even though the AA is average.

I graduated with a BS in biology major and chemistry minor with both overall and science GPA of 3.3. I was in a PhD program (pharmacology; GPA: 3.3) for almost two years before I decided to go for dentistry. (It was a long and tough decision) Right after I left the PhD program, I started to study for DAT up until today. I have three years of professional research experience and training, good amount of volunteer or EC hours from back in undergrad; however, I don't have much of dental experience like shadowing, but I will start that ASAP so I can write something on the application. This is main reason why I am delaying for a month to submit the application. Anyways, if you guys have any feedbacks or suggestions, please let me know. Thank you! 🙂

I think that you are very mature person. Your DAT scores are good(if I were you,I do not to retake it either).Your GPA is average (like mine).Your research skills and life experience definitely make you unique compare to 21 years old applicants who are not familiar with real life and professional schools (you were in the PhD program). If you make a good personal statement and do some dental shadowing, I believe that you have a chance to get in every school you apply because of your diverse background (different careers, life and professional school experience) which makes you one of the most well rounded individuals in the application pool (this is my idea 🙂)). Good luck with your application.

Wow.. thank you all for the feedbacks! I hope ADCOM from dental schools would feel the same way. I will definitely work on my personal statement and shadowing experience. 🙂 Good luck to you all as well!
