Finally I am DONE with DAT!! YAY!!
I took the exam on Friday and here is my score......


PAT 20
QR 16 URGH!!
RC 18
BIO 20
GC 22
Orgo 23

TS 21
AA 20


I think I was ok on all sections except the QR.
The problems were very long and wordy and I ran out of time at the end and couldn't finish last few problems... urgh;; very disappointing!!

The biology section was not something like I expected to see. There were many problems that I didn't really focus on to study or not even emphasized by Kaplan, Destroyer and Achiever. I had to use my best judgement to choose the answer.

The GC section was very conceptual and didn't need much calculations to solve the problems. I rarely used the board/marker to try out calculations.

Also organic chemistry questions were very straightforward and conceptual like stereochemistry, acidity, basicity, SN2... And there were only few reaction problems where I had to predict the products.


I am very disappointed with my QR score because I did fairly well on the mocking tests. Oh well.. there are nothing I can do about it now...
I just have to pray schools won't be caring too much about my QR score;;


My GPA is 3.80 and sciecne GPA is 3.86...

As long as you did your undergrad from a good school, you will get many acceptance. The GPA is more important than the DAT, and your DAT is decent, too

No.
I am a very slow learner and takes me a lot of time to fully understand the topics. For the biology section, I read the Campbell's textbook from beginning to the end. Of course there were few chapters that I skipped because they weren't part of the exam criteria. And also used the Destroyer and I think is was very helpful too.

I'm very satisfied with my science score...
but the QR makes me worry..........a lot... whew......

My school is not a top ranking school...that's why i am so concerned...
My school's rank is in between 90~100.

It is still good because your GPA is high and your dat is good.
20/21/20 = AA/TS/PAT is a solid score

What is it about bio that has everyone miffed? I am guessing the sections are plants, phylums kingdoms, etc. Any subjects that come to mind to review on?

I wouldn't worry about your stats, I think you're good.

For some reason, I ran out of time on both, and I never had a problem on those with time. I also have a feeling a lot of people who took it the same time as us (based on their posts) also faired less in those two sections. Interesting symptom for those who took it this year. 😳
