Done with Second run through Uworld, what to do next

Done with the second run through Uworld, all timed 44 question sets. Average 85%

my NBME taken about two weeks ago showed 237

At this point I will go through my wrong answers and then take my last NBME, hopefully, god willing, my score will go up after going through U world a second time. And at that point I will see if I am ready to take the real thing!!!

Any suggestions, advice??

What are you doing right now besides studying, i.e. how far can you push your test back? I think you should take the NBME and if you are at your goal score, go ahead and take the test! 👍 I really think you are going to be where you want to be, just relax and do your best. You seem to know your stuff.

I am currently doing research and studying. Next monday starting anesthesia rotation. Hope it wont' take too much away from my studying.

I am done going over my wrong answers right now just redoing my marked questions.

got a 650 =248!!!!

my test is Tuesday!!!

At this point I have gone through Uworld a total of 3 times with each time redoing all wrong questions and then all marked questions.

What should I do for the next 4 days before my exam????????????

Very happy for you, you have worked hard and deserve it! In my last 4 days, I reviewed my missed UW questions and brushed up on subjects using kaplan notes. I don't think the source matters, but I would just do some light reviewing on topics you think you can use work on and try to stick to high yield stuff. You've already put the work in at this point, so no need to reinvent the wheel. Just keep the material fresh and have confidence. You might feel like you are forgetting everything in the last couple days and start to panic, but you really haven't and you will see when you take the test that you know everything you need to know.

You got through UW 3 times?!! That's impressive. I think it's a challenge to get through it once. How many questions did you do a day? My compliments

USMLE World first run through: 61%
second run through 84%
third run through 93%

by the time I was doing the second run through, I was able to do 8 44 question sections per day.

Kaplan Qbank 1 run through averagae 61% (done before repeating Uworld)

USMLE world self assessment couple of months ago 227
NBME form 4 237 (couple of months ago)
NBBME form 1 248 (last week)

Just took a practice session at the prometric center yesterday with the NBME free assessment (same one they provide from their web site, for download)
Got a 83% !! Is this good, bad ?? When I typed this into the medfriends predictor it only predicts a 224!!! What am I to make of this???

My test is Tuesday!!!!

right now trying to run through the Kaplan;s new comprehensive cases with Conrad Fischer. Got 8 cases left.

You will definitely break 240, I think you will score >250. Don't focus on the free questions, they are not a good assessment for reasons I explained in the other thread.

took my exam today.


thought it was actually really hard. My first section was super easy, but the rest got really hard. The last part was killer, I wonder if it was just because I got really tired by the end.


Is it true that if you get questions right then you get harder questions in the next section????

It was like Uworld yes.
More so it was like the free material q's released by the NBME. (the three sections)
I didn't read FA so cannt say.
Yes I still stand behind Master the boards step 3.

Not too much basic science,

I thought I saw a ton of epidemiology though 🙁 I think Uworld is not representative of the number and difficulty of epidemiolgy questions (harder on the real thing)

Really? I found the epidemiology very easy on mine! I am more of a math person, though. I'm sure you did fine overall and will expect you to report your 250+ score when you receive it!😀

haha, thank god NO!!, although I have to admit I did have fleeting thoughts of postponing the exam and doing just that. I am so glad I took it am done with it.


Now I am totally freaking out because my applications are not in yet. My friends already have interviews. AM I the only one whose apps aren't in yet??? Am I royally screwed???

What are you applying in? Medicine? Probably not a problem. Ultra-competitive stuff? Might hurt your chances (in some cases significantly). Either way, get those apps in ASAP and congrats on being done!
