with 1st year of college!!!

I was hoping for some feed back on what I'm doing wrong and what I need to work on, so here is everything I have done this year:

Major: Environmental Engineer
cGPA: 3.63
sGPA: 3.75 (done with all prerec except 2 sem. of Ochem)

Medical volunteer work: 351 hrs
non medical (united way): 314 hrs
Shadowing (primary care): 32 hrs
research both semesters and maybe a publication by the end of my second year (if im lucky).
Deans list fall sem. (dont know about this semester yet)

This summer I will be continuing in the same lab but as a lab tech (ill be paid!!!)

I ask those of you with more experience and wisdom then me to guide the way.

Thanks

Congrats on being done with first year!

Very good starting GPA. Don't let it slip! I noticed you did 665 hours of volunteer (which, + the shadowing + research is over 700 hours = more than 2 hours per day!) If you notice your grades starting to slip, think about cutting back. However, if you feel you can balance that and schoolwork without getting burned out, more power to you!

Looks like you're on the right track. Try to get some leadership experience as well, whether it's through your volunteering or something else.

Do you have any other non-medical interests? Think about exploring those a little more as well. Adcoms like diversity of interests and experiences.
