So I take my trusty powerbook to my favorite coffee shop tonight, and spend about 2 hours+ fine tuning my 200 word sales pitch to Cornell. As I click the submit button, it wouldn't let me submit b/c one of my english comp classes was listed for spring 05....little did I know that you have to have all of your pre-reqs done by jan 31st of you're entering year! I'm double majoring in two different depts at my school, and I put off my last english comp/lit class until spring 05...I guess I've learned my lesson not to apply to a school unless I read EVERYTHING in their admissions policies first. And I also guess that I won't be going to Cornell, b/c it's completely impossible for me to cram that freakin extra english class/writing intensive class into my already-18-hours-schedule If anyone else has any "Don't waste your time filling out this school's secondary" posts put them here.

thats weird, most schools let you finish pre-reqs by matriculation.

From page two of the admissions FAQ from Cornell's website:

"If I haven't completed my prerequisites, can I still apply?

Yes, but all prerequisites must be completed by January 31 of the year for which admission is sought."

see it for yourself:

Roger that Houston.

I thought most schools require your prereqs be completed before you apply. I may be wrong on this though. I know I was told to make sure I take ochem and physics before senior year. (Physics was not one of my major requirements).

the majority of schools have prerequisites for matriculation, not for application, meaning that you need to have finished the class by the time you start medical school, not by the time you apply, or by january 31 or anything like that. i've never heard of anything like what cornell has.
