Don't Forget to Practice Your Nonverbals

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Amy Cuddy once said, "Our nonverbals govern how other people think and feel about us."

Keep this in mind for interview season. While you're preparing your anecdotes and introductions, don't forget to practice your body language! Minor tendencies like poor posture and arm crossing can send the wrong message to interviewers. Aim to have your body convey confidence, interest, and professionalism. This is not something to obsess over, but a general awareness of your nonverbals will go far in how your interviewers perceive you.
