Ultimate example in QR:

If 5-2x = 13, what is the value of10-x = x^2?

First, what does that even mean? Secondly, the solutions say that y = -6 and that the answer choice A. Yet in the test, answer choice A is -2.

WHAT!?

How many questions like this have you found where there were discrepancies in the overall content of the book?
The answer is in fact -2, which you said the solutions said. I understand you are saying it has contradicting answers but keep in mind that errors can be found in almost all these texts.

*Not a good reason to NOT get the book!

Barrons IS pretty useless though.

I hear their PAT is ok but I didn't even look through that section.

Ok, maybe I don't understand the question or something. But I don't see how you can find the value of an equation like that, and certainly don't see how -2 comes from anywhere.

Also, I've done a PAT section and a QR section. In the PAT section I've found maybe 10ish errors. In the QR section I found around another 10, I just didn't bother posting it. There was another error with calculating variance. They didn't even calculate it right.

There's so many other materials out there, its not worth anyone's time to get this. All I'm sayin

Ah, I see. Didn't realize there were so many errors (only one was reported).
You are right, there are a lot of resources out there. Which edition or version do you have?

The bold x needs to be y. that is a typo.So y is -6.

Looks like another typo mistake!

I bought the new Barrons too. There were a ton of mistakes in the QR practice test. From what I remember the PAT section had a few helpful hints that helped me when I first started studying for that section.

I would agree that Barrons has a lot of typos/mistakes especially in the QR section. This can cause a lot of frustration (or at least it did with me). However, some of the concepts that were tested in the other sections were crucial to doing well on the real DAT because they were presented in such a way that they were not covered in other study aids. So basically, if you can deal with barrons lack of proof reading....go ahead and get barrons. If not...get it anyway and just don't do the QR (thats were a lot of there mistakes are anyway)

Barron's PAT section is worth your money. I don't think I've come across too many errors in that area (yet!). The rest is a waste of paper IMO. I just kinda use the rest of the book to browse subjects and skim over stuff.
