I'm trying to go to one-year MPH program before applying medical school.
But I never really got to know with any of professors in person. I know it is so stupid to ask these questions but should I just make an appointment and visit his/her office and tell them I need a recommendation? Should I bring resume and show it to them? Do I pick up the recommendation they wrote for me or does professor send it to me by mail??
I have no idea... Never applied school which requires recommendation for admission before and my friends don't know jack about this either.....
Help...

I got 5 letters of recommendation already but really didn't have a plan on how to got them. The first was from a cardiologist who I worked for, so I just asked her the day before I quit to work at a molecular laboratyr and she said she would write me a good one. The second was from a dentist/researcher of whom I took a class from.. pathology... and I asked him before I finished the class with a pretty high grade point (it was a dental/pharmacy class... don't know why they let undergrads take the class though??). While in the class, I didn't stand out or even come to his office hours so it explains the "generic" letter he wrote saying I did extremely well in his class and that I have the "learning qualities" to do well in medical school. The third was from my neurologist who ACTUALLY ASKED specifically for a resume AND my transcript before writing a letter for me. Even though she knew pretty well in class because I performed pretty well in class, she asked for these materials which I thought was a little odd. The fourth letter was from a high-up nursing faculty member whom I also took a class with. I asked him to write a letter because we often debated about health care issues. So he knew me pretty well and would write a good letter. The last letter was because the medschools asked SPECIFICALLY for a letter from my department: Biochemistry. I didn't have one so, a year after I graduated and from the class... I SUDDENLY appeared before my biochem professors class. Of course, he didn't remember me and we sat and talk for a couple of minutes about what I have done, what I plan, etc. etc. an oral resume if you will... So u see I got all kinds of reactions and requirements... your best bet is to go to your professors office and tell him that you are applying to medical school and would like for him/her to write a strong letter of recommendation for you and wait for what he says... if he/she asks for a paper resume then do it. I was surprised when the neurologist asked for a paper resume so I told her I have one ready tomorrow. Its probably best to have one ready beforehand cause I had problems writing it.. I ended up writing an essay because I never wrote a resume before
