I took the computer based MCAT and it crashed on me in the middle. Thanks to those here who gave some suggestions.

I just got off the phone with AAMC, and they said this has happened to at least NINE people! They had to restart the computer.

Take paper tests until they fix those bugs.

Since when did they start offering computerized MCAT?? Goodness! I would imagine it would be tough to read passasges after passages on the computer screen.

That sucks. I think I would shoot myself if that happened to me. Okay, maybe not, but I would be pretty upset! I think they should give you a handicap for that. Maybe add 15 points to your score. 🙂 That should help.

I thought it didn't come out on the computer until 2007? it would suck if they were testing it out on you guys.

I beleive the CBT was optional this year at certain testing locations. However in April 2007 CBT will be the only format for all applicants and the paper test will not be an option.

I had no problems with the CBT in NYC.

Hmm, that kinda sux not having the option to practice on paper but I guess that's how it is for most/all computerized tests now? 😱

Hahahaha, sure makes you laugh at all the prep courses that are going to have to buy a bunch of extra computers to allow their students to test. PLUS, they'll have to give the exams only at facilities which have the propers software. It sure would be a cop out of they just regave the paper/pencil ones or just made students do them on a home computer. Man, I bet that makes the MCAT prep fees jump huge!

My eyes would fry. I hate CBT because you can't write directly on the test booklet. You have to copy entire diagrams to blank sheets and go back and forth. Time to get glasses. 🙄
