If I only get 1 ophtho letter for the CAS application, am i screwed?

I decided ophtho late and I have only had the chance to work with one ophthalmologist so far.

got any vacation time? go on weekends if you can to work with some. bust ass and it could get you more time. im not in optho so im only giving advice as an outsider and what i have seen others do

While most have 2 ophtho, I believe you will be fine. I have seen some strong applicants match highly with a strategy similar to yours. Obviously it would be a plus if the ophtho letter was very strong and if it came from someone well-known. Good luck, but I feel you will be fine if the remainder of your application is strong.

yeah it basically depends on whether have a great step I and/or are AOA. if you are either (240+ Step I or AOA) then you should probably be okay with one letter. If not, try to work with someone in july/august and ask them for a letter asap.

if this doesn't work out, however, it doesn't mean game over. you can still be a good applicant and you definitely can still match, it just isn't as easy.

Yeah this will probably be the situation for me as well. I will only have 1 ophthalmology letter for the CAS. I am pretty worried about this, but hopefully it wont hurt too much, because my 2 non-ophtho letters should be pretty good letters.
