Just curious, where have all you osteopaths interviewed at, and what places are you ranking? Any feedback would be appreciated! 😀

I am having a hard time believing that one of these programs pre-matched this guy. I heard just community type hospitals get involved in pre-matching medical students
Well he obviously has the stats to deserve a spot in any of those programs, I am just suprised that those programs get involved in pre-matching medical students. In any case, congrats man!!

My CCF tour / lunch was conducted by a D.O. who prematched there. It is apparently not unheard of, and the hospital is pretty nice.
Non-JHH Hopkins programs have many IMG's (and by extension DO's I would imagine), and given this candidate's scores, would probably offer a prematch contract given what they might end up with in the match. Same with non-Rochester Mayo.
I doubt WashU, JHH/Osler, and to some extent Pitt, would offer them, so those were not likely the #1 referenced. No clue about the other programs. I am somewhat amazed that JHH extended an interview offer, didn't remember any in my interview other than off-service anesthesia and ER types.
anyone apply to the Cali programs??
I'm curious as well? Also, anyone at OHSU?
FWIW, OHSU usually matches 1-2 DOs a year out of 30-ish interns. In the 4 years I've been here, they've usually been from the bigger, more established schools (PCOM, CCOM, Western, VCU-COM are the ones that jump out at me right now). No idea how many they interview though.
I find it very interesting that some programs who interview and rank DOs, will absolutely NOT interview IMGs (OHSU comes to mind), while some who interview a few IMGs every year, will absolutely NOT interview DOs (Baylor comes to mind). I wonder what is the thought process behind this. I wonder if it has something to do with the confidence of having good residents from those medical schools in the preceding years; because the stats are often the same.
Nasadorn, that's a very impressive interview list. I have head that Cedars-Sinai is very numbers based (i.e. put a lot of emphasis on Step 1, more so than other programs). Did you find this to be accurate for yourself or for other interviewees?

VCU is an allopathic school. edward via (vcom) is an osteopathic school.
So what programs are DO students applying at this year? And where are y'all getting interviews?
Anyone know any CA/FL/TX programs that offer a pre-match?
Why does that surprise you? American graduates have less issues, and the product is pretty much uniform. This is one reason that D.O.'s can often match at VERY competitive allopathic programs. There is no way in God's green earth that a D.O. will be matched into the Osler medicine program (in spite of what was hinted above)--connections, interviews or not. It will never happen. Save the $10 for a beer in an expensive city.I find it very interesting that some programs who interview and rank DOs, will absolutely NOT interview IMGs (OHSU comes to mind), while some who interview a few IMGs every year, will absolutely NOT interview DOs (Baylor comes to mind).
