DO's in CANADA? Please help

Hey There!

Here is my question. I was wondering if I completed my D.O. and completed residency and possible fellowship in America. Could I apply and test for licensure in CANADA? I would think that is fine...

My girlfriends father (Orthopedist in Canada) tells me DO's cannot practice in Canada - along with podiatrists....

Can anyone clarify this?

There is a sticky on this somewhere on the forum. I think if you do a allo residency you are in the clear. I think they have problems with the D.O. residencies, not for sure on this so check into it. But I do remember a couple of provinces that only allowed D.O.'s to do OMM.

DO International Practice Rights in Cananda


DOs have unlimited rights in all provinces except for Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan. You should check out the link for more thorough information.
