Just wondering if anyone knew any nice DO's in WV, particularily the Morgantown area that wouldn't mind having someone shadow them? I have tried to contact a few and havn't gotten any call backs. It seems that the yellow pages don't list many DO's in my area, or else they arn't listed. I have already applied to WVSOM and of course they like to see some DO shadowing in the application.

you try the volunteer department of any hospitals where the students do rotations? There should be DOs there.
I had no shadowing or hospital experience when I interviewed and WVSOM took me. So don't fret too much if you don't find something in time.

I didn't think wvsom would be too strick, but I just wanted to be sure. That site is very helpful, thank you. As far as the hospitals go, I was actually told by the volunteer coordinator that they don't offer any shadowing opportunites if that is what I was looking for.
I had the exact problem as you do now. Maybe you can go to directly to the hospital and ask the DOs without going through coordinators. The DO that I got my LOR from told me I couldn't shadow him because of HIPPA but offered to write me one after a 15-minute "interview".cghost88 said:
