To answer all questions regarding can DOs do this or that; the answer is yes they do everything! Once you start med school you will see this. look in the journals, they published lots articals. I recive American Family Physician the #1 family practice journal and it has several DO authors every month. there are DOs on the surgical teaching faculty at Yale Medical school both are NYCOM grads one is back in ny in private practice and teaching part time at Nycom the other is still at Yale. Can a DO be the first man on Mars, yes he/she can.
The point of this, just to put at ease all you pre meds who are dealing with your mental delema of will i be succesful as a DO. If you don't know if you want to use OMM that is OK, how can you know until you learn more about it. So if you dream of becoming a doctor and you are willing to work your f#%@ing ass off then then welcome to medicine be it Osteopathic or Allopathic
