Hi everyone its me again with yet another question...

how many pi bonds are in a double bond? how many are in a triple bond?

Double-- 1 sigma 1 pi
Triple-- 1 sigma 2 pi

ever bond has a sigma at least one sigma bond

if you see more than one bond between two mole. each addational is a pi bond

C-C 1 sigma

C=C 1 sigma 1 pi

C triple bond C still only 1 sigma and the other addational bonds are pi = 2 pi

ever bond has a sigma at least one sigma bond

if you see more than one bond between two mole. each addational is a pi bond

C-C 1 sigma

C=C 1 sigma 1 pi

C triple bond C still only 1 sigma and the other addational bonds are pi = 2 pi

Can you repeat that again? I understood it the third time, but got mixed up on the fifth explanation.

Haha… that’s funny. The exact same thing happened over on the predental board on the “interview cycle 2008!!!” thread. I wonder if you guys both posted around the same time and there was some sort of glitch.

my bad

I tried to post a replay but the computer was not loading...kept pressing submit and thats what you get...
