I just found out that my application to PCOM has been sitting incomplete for 6 months because of a clerical error. 😱 I got a letter from PCOM when my secondary application/fee was received but nothing after that to indicate that the other materials had arrived. I didn't catch it and didn't check on my application status until last week. PCOM was expecting my pre-med advisor/committee letter to come from the university where I did my undergraduate. Instead it came from the university where I did my post-bacs. PCOM received the pre-med advisor/committee letter and all my letters of recommendation but my file was marked incomplete (and not reviewed) because nothing was received from my undergraduate school. Auuuuugh!

Sucks to be me. 🙁 Learn from my mistake, contact any school you haven't heard from in awhile.

I 2nd this. I had similiar problem. Thought I was complete when in fact they had only 1 letter versus the needed packet! 😱

Yeah, I have several horror stories myself too.

It's like that at a lot of places that get thousands of applicants. There are going to be plenty that get loss somewhere along the way.

Your not a alone. I would tell you mine own story, but if I did you would all laugh at me, so I won't 😀

You know the story gets worse. It is not a clerical error at all! 😕 They are actually waiting for a letter from my undergraduate school. A school I graduated from 15 years ago! And where I wasn't a pre-med. But PCOM will not budge. Despite the fact that I did a post-bac program and have a perfectly valid (and glowing) LOR from that program which I completed 1 year ago. NOPE! My file will remain incomplete until they get the letter. So, now I am in some negotiation hell with my undergraduate school who think I am a NUTBAR who wants them to write some magical letter that is ridiculous. Auuuughhgg. It defies the imagination. 🙁

Go on and tell me your story. Send me a private message if you like. 🙂

So I am having the same problem! a few schools had seperate files for my middle name and then for my last name. I caught this problem today when I called to check on my status at PCOM, NSU and KCUMB and had this problem. At least we caught it before the secondary app period is over!! I want to know your story!

So PCOM sends a letter in the mail stating that they recieved the secondary application/fee for the secondary application? how long did that take?

not too long. maybe a two weeks. i could check the dates if you really want to know. I guess I read that as meaning my application was complete but indeed it was not. Auuuuughgh. Perhaps now that my UG school has sent a letter they will deem me complete and maybe just maybe review my application in time to reject me before their interview season ends.

My personal story is a strange one. I can't say I would have gotten in because I was not the most competitive applicant I'm sure, but I should have gotten an interview. Didn't for the longest time and finally called the school to find out why.

It turns out that they said they never received my academic transcript. Now TCOM uses the TMDSAS system, which is like the osteopathic and allopathic systems in that everything is put together in a packet, and for the Texas schools I know for a fact that they are sent out electronically. Every other Texas school got my full packet. I had to call TCOM who claimed the problem was with TMDSAS, then TMDSAS who claimed the problem was with TCOM. This went on for a couple of days until TMDSAS decided to take the onerous task of re-emailing my packet. It took TCOM another two weeks to complete my file. By that time it was late November and they had stopped interviewing around the 15th.

The moral of the story: Double-check everything!!! Talk to someone at the admissions office and don't rely on a standardized e-mail. Y'all have worked too hard to get to this point and be foiled by some stupid computer stuff.

Second: Yeah, I know Bill Brasky. He's a 10 foot-tall beast-man, who showers in vodka, and feeds his baby shrimp scampi.

Third: Best damn trader on the floor.

Second: He orchestrated the merger between UNICEF and Smith and Wesson.

Third: Brasky went public with his own buttocks and made 7 million.

First: To Bill Brasky.

Together: Bill Brasky! "

Well, the letters I have don't have dates on them but the postmarks (yes, I keep ALL the envelops too) say that the secondary was shipped Sept 1st and the letter stating they had my secondary/fee was shipped Oct 3rd. I tried to have a turn around time of 2 weeks for submission of my secondaries so you can do the math. 🙂 Hope that helps!
