At my school we have to declare our major at the end of our fourth semester. I will be a sophomore this year, so it's time to decide. I think I want to double major, a lot of people at my school do it, so I mean why not. I know I want to major in Earth and Ocean Sciences; that's what I came in thinking I wanted to major in and I like it. I also took a pysch class last year and loved it, so I think I might want to double major with that, but I'm also thinking about Global Health as my second major. Any thoughts? Advice?

Nobody cares what your major is or whether you double major. What we want is for you to excel in your studies. Major in what you're truely interested in.

Major in what you are interested in, just remember to take all med school pre requisites.
Also it will probably take you an extra 1-2 years with a double major to graduate.

Take an extra 1-2 years, just for a double major? Unlikely.

Neither majors nor double majors matter. If you want to double major in something choose a major that you can fall back on in case med school doesn't pan out and another major in something you are interested in.

As long as you do well in the pre-reqs, you can major in anything.

A double degree, perhaps... A double major generally doesn't take much extra time (if any). Students can simply allocate their boatloads of elective credit toward another major. At least that's how it works at the universities I'm familiar with. If it was going to take another 1-2 years, then maybe reconsider it OP. If not, major in whatever you like. If you are passionate about your classes, it will be a lot easier to study and excel, which will help you in the long run.👍
