Hi friends
can someone pls tell me how to differentiate between right and left lateral excursion??
I know how to find out the cusp position and whether its nonworking or working side..but i always get confused with right or left..can someone help me on this..
thanks in advance.

the best way to do this is to remember when a lateral jaw movement takes place the working side moves laterally and the non working side moves medially also that in left lateral movement the working jaw moves to the left and non working left as well so if you have a jaw set or maybe on yourself try moving your jaw to the left slightly now your left jaw is moving laterally (away from the midline)and your right jaw is moving medially towards the midline this will be left lateral movement and the opposite side would have been right lateral movement

easiest way for the exam is this,
if the arrow is pointing up (buccally) it's to the right...
if the arrow is pointing down (lingually) it's to the left....

i hope i'm not mixing these up they might be opposite i haven't gone over da again yet! if i'm reversing them someone please say so

oh thanks a million aps and khurram..finally i got it!!!! i used both methods and they came out correctly!!🙂
thanks again..
