Downstate Admissions Office sucks monkey balls (a vent thread)

So, I mailed out my secondaries and fee along with the LORs back in July 19, 2005. The LORs were mailed out on July 20, 2005. To this day, I haven't heard dick from them. I called them today to see whether they got the paperwork or not and this is how the conversation went:

Ad: Good morning, Downstate Admissions.
Me: Good morning. I am calling to check on the status of my application.
Ad: Oh, we don't do status checks over the phone.
Me: Okay, may I at least know whether the necessary paperworks have been received or not?
Ad: Once your application is complete, we notify you.
Me: I submitted my app with fees and LORs back in late July and I still haven't heard anything.
Ad: Once again, we'll notify you once your application is complete.
Me: But, if the LOR or application didn't reach you, then I won't know if I am complete or not and could miss the deadline.
Ad: Sir, we will notify you once you are complete.
Me: (hangs up).

I swear to God, Downstate sucks so much. They built the school in the middle of the ****ing drug trade and figures hey might as well turn these wannabe physicians into future patients. There is a reason that area in underserved and will continue to be like that.

Okay, done venting.

I always had luck with the cheery "Hi! I sent my stuff in over a month ago, but haven't heard from you yet, so I'm wondering which one of my letter writers I have to go pester for being a total slacker..." or some other such off the wall complaining-about-someone-else comment.

This bit of humor usually puts them in a better mood and they know EXACTLY what you want. It always helps if they think you're complaining about someone else.
