downstate housing

Does anyone know where the majority of the med students that live off campus house? is there a community of students somewhere or are you basically on your own?

Downstate has two fairly large med student dorms which are right on the downstate campus. From my visit there, most people prefer to live there because of its proximity to campus (so you don't have to walk through a pretty seedy neighborhood late at night) and because of all the other students who live there. If I recall though, there were a bunch of downstate students on SDN who were getting a house. If you can find the *official* Downstate class of 2007 thread, you should find them.

I'd say my class is 50/50 on/off. Most people who live off either live in park Slope or Brooklyn Heights.
