Take my uninformed 2nd year opinion with a huge grain of salt. Podiatry residencies are looking for candidates that they can shape into future podiatrists. People with stellar knowledge of the foot and ankle, surgical promise and talent, and as much medical knowledge of the body as we can jam in. None of that requires anything more than a DPM. Perhaps some sort of super technical masters degree could light up some eyes (biostatistics, microbiology), but I don't see the need for more debt when quite frankly across any school class there's going to be a huge spectrum of competency with ample opportunity to set yourself apart. Also, and I've written about it elsewhere, most MPHs are softball crap.
