Hey everyone,
I currently got into LIU, NYIT, and New York Medical. I need to decide soon which DPT program to attend. Does anyone have any opinions which school is best for education, cost, etc (particularly cost--INCLUDING LIKE LIVING..AND JUST OTHER EXPENSES).

It will be a great help..thanks!

Of those 3, I would say NYMC is probably the strongest. What were your impressions with each school? Did you have interviews?

I liked each school a lot..I had interviews at each...and NYMC seemed to be the strongest...but right now its down to cost..

From my understanding, all 3 are expensive and in the NYC area so cost seems to be a wash, no?

Yea....what would you rank the schools from best to least? and why?

What is important to you that would make it the best?

Teachers often teach in more than one school. Not sure if LIU PT is at the CW post campus but if you didn't know they are a stone's throw away. Did you get a chance to talk to those already there in each program? How do you test well? Scan tron forms? Papers? Practicals? Some q's to ask.

IF the best means just rankings, I can say that telling a prospective employer that one college was ranked higher in US & world report when you applied, 3 years before, won't mean much. Most places look to see where you interned (see if the school will brag about where they send their students, that would be a good plus) as it relates to their facility.

Who's offering you money. Theyre the best. 🙂
If you are driving, NYU would not be the best. (NYIT and LIU-CW Post wins there - w/ ample parking.) Good Luck.

COTA, I believe the OP was referencing NY Medical College vs. NYU.

I don't have first hand knowledge of the 3 programs except that I work alongside a few grads from NYMC. All very solid and seemed to like their experience at the school.

In the past, I have spoken to my boss about his thoughts about schools in the area and he said he does see a difference in the quality of students in certain schools. Basically, he would agree that NYMC is the strongest of the 3 schools.

If cost is similar, and you felt NYMC was the strongest, why not choose it?

I dk if the cost is similar..individuals keep saying NYMC is more expensive
