This is on Test #5:

Given the function y=e^(kx) -2 where k>0. As k increases then what happens to the x or y intercept?
a) y increases b) x increases c) y decreases d) x decreases (the answer is x decreases)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Y intercept is -2 which wouldnt change no matte what happen to K. therefore you can cross out answer (a) and (C)
you need to understand that X intercept is the point where slope touches the x-axis. so as K increases the Y value will increases as well and it will make x intercept moves to the left (decrease)
that's the best way i can explain it. it would help if you type the original function into your calculator and then change it to maybe e^10x and you will the difference
