i gotta give a shout-out to cuts also. i love his outlook on this stuff, as i usually feel the exact same way as he does. keep it real dr. cuts. as long as you end up with something that makes $ and has good hours (gas, rads, or path), you'll be fine for the rest of your life. while your enjoying yourself just think of all those surgery and medicine residents slaving away. anyway, i see you as a mentor as i'm one year behind you, thanks for paving the way and helping to show me the light. your almost approaching steven polk-status with me. love ya cuts!

Thanks bro... I appreciate it. I would like to comment on one thing though... it's not all about $ and time-off for me... really. I find many of the medical & surgical fields extremely fascinating, but alas, I need time off. Not to watch Joe Blow Millionaire or hang with Ross, Racheal, Chandler and the gang, but to pursue some of my many outside interests... business, investing, health & fitness, writing, and even some purely altruistic ventures. I hold surgeons and internists for example, in the highest esteem, and I'm truly grateful for the services they provide to society. If they harbor the requisite passion & devotion to practice these specialties for the rest of their lives, and they're prepared to essentially forgo most other extracurricular activities, then more power to them... kudos. I personally am not prepared to make such a sacrifice. You only live once, and I want to squeeze in as much as possible in my 80 years here. Thanks again, and good luck to everyone next week 🙂.

I too hope to maintain some type of balance in my life. I enjoy far too many things to limit my time to only one interest. Working and sleeping does not make happy, interesting people.

I have several hobbies that I go to when I need time for myself. Family and friends have always been the most important part of my life. Finally, I have business interests outside of medicine. I hope to do many things before I take that express train off of this rock.

Good luck Cuts with the match. I presume you will be pleased with the outcome. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a rads position as well.

Good Luck!
