Dr Goljan and Barbara Hansen

Am I the only one who thinks its funny how Goljan praises Barbara Hansen to no end in his tapes? Talk about HYPE. What's the big deal about her Biochemistry notes, they are good, but not so incredible as he makes out. In fact some of the paragraphs are really dry. They are definitely not the best in the Kaplan series, however Ed G. seems to think otherwise. But WHY?

I had her for kaplan and was very boringg and nothing special and thought the exact same thing was a push to pump her popularity up because that was one of the sections I could not sit thru and went home early to self study

I do remember him saying something like she is the best lecturer on Biochemisty ever and if anyone thinks they can learn it without her, they are wrong. LOL.

The best lecturer for Biochemistry is without a doubt Sam Turco of University of Kentucky. Imagine a way cooler version of Goljan who makes you into a Biochemistry God.

Everyone who works for a test prep company is expected to say the same bs during class. If students don't trust that the material is worth their time they won't study it. Your job is to convince the student that he has the best test prep materials available to motivate them.

Is that a lecturer for Kaplan? How is it possible to listen to his lectures?

As God is my witness, Hansen was one of the WORST teachers at the Kaplan Live Lecture my friends and I attended. Her lectures were word-for-word from her notes. It was like paying someone to read the lecture notes to you. No emphasis on important concepts, no helpful tips or suggestions, nothing. She wasn't even good at answering people's questions. The only professor who was worse, even stated that he had no clue why Kaplan had picked him to teach us Micro!? Luckily, I never see his name again when I see Kaplan's postings for who's teaching what in the Step 1 Live Lectures, but I still see her name!
