If I wanted to specialize in Lifestyle Medicine such as Dr Rusilko how would I go about it? I feel as though his approach to medicine is truly the Osteopathic philosophy in action.

His website is...interesting. What did this guy specialize in?

If your goal is to sell $6,000 lab tests like that guy, you don't need any special training. Just find a lab that sells unorthodox tests and mark them up 10x like he does.

If you want to learn more about that type of medical practice, look into the IFM, functional / integrative medicine, etc.

Source: previously worked for one of those specialty labs.

I wonder how much this guy is making with this. People with money will pay for anything.

In my previous career I worked with a ton of doctors who focused on this type of practice. Out of ~150-200 doctors, I would say maybe 8-10 of them made a lot of money ($500/hr visits, $90 to get your blood drawn for obscure labs, all labs marked up a few hundred bucks, supplements sold at 2-5x markup). I wouldn't be surprised if they were clearing 500k-1MM/year, which ain't too shabby given most of them are FM docs... The busier ones typically saw 2-3 patients a day consistently. Given an appointment is around 2-3 hours billed at ~$500/hr, they were likely making around 500k+/year (gross) just on the consultation fees alone. Not unusual to sell some "physician grade" B-vitamins for $50/bottle when they cost ~$8/bottle from the supplier. The upsells go on and on.

The other ~140-190 docs tool around with it but never really seem to gain the patient traction to make it a lucrative business.

You need to do lots of research in “how to scam the rich”, atleast 5-10pubs at least in “how to make money and do nothing” magazine or better.

If you didnt buy into a pyramid scheme at some point and sign up atleast 5-10 highschool students and college freshman you don’t have what it takes to make it in this field.

Sorry OP, best of luck.

Love that he just did a TRI.

It looks like he could easily be a multimillionaire depending on how many patients he has. If he has ten patients under the “elite” annual membership, that’s $1M right there.

Anything more would have been wasted.

Imagine, he sits on the Physician Advisory Board for the "American Academy of Procedural Medicine!" ..and I call myself well informed.

I love the team over at American Academy of Procedural Medicine, with such heavy hitters as Ryze Faker and John Doe.

Remember this dude from Mr. World competition. He injects himself with all kind of stuff apparently and calls it IV therapy. He’s a good looking guy with impressive physique (though looks to be chemically enhanced). I would say his practice is thriving due to his social status, not much evidence behind what he’s doing. He’s not even residency trained, I consider him borderline dangerous. I wish he was not a DO.

But again, **** like this sells in Miami, I know a board certified orthopedic surgeon who closed down his ortho practice and now does “anti aging medicine”, cash only. Again a good looking dude with high social status locally

I bet on a discussion forum somewhere, established Investment Bankers/Software Engineers use this guy as an example to dissuade the youngins from joining their fields- "Guys/gals with your caliber and work ethic should be able to pull this off going to medical school."

I just saw somewhere he went to do PM&R after his TRI year...but is what he's practicing things PM&R docs do?

At least I'm starting to feel better about the idea that the OP was just trolling

I remember when I first heard about this guy... it made me sad... but hey, per his website, he's met Xzibit so he must be awesome, right???

From what I remember he at least started or was planning to start a PM&R residency.

I'm doing this medicine thing all wrong. I forget how much money there is to be made off ignorance. If only I didn't have this damn conscience holding me back... Guess I'm doomed to slave away for peanuts.

I do not see that.

The good doctor is also a published novelist in the genre of erotic fiction. The main protagonist is the a fictionalized version of .....himself.

Damn it! I just rolled my eyes so hard one of them got stuck in my head - my mom warned me about heartthrobs like this guy, but I don’t think this is what she had in mind...

Have to admit, Dr. Will from BB was my favorite DO to riches story, but he is now on my radar.

No.
Yo dawg I heard you like fake medicine, so we put some snake oil in your snake oil so you can scam while you scam

Can confirm. Back in college, I helped Xzibit's aunt find her way to the pub where Xzibit was performing. Became awesome instantly, dawg.

I do not see that.
He offers treatments with no scientific basis and no discernible benefits to the patient. The only definitive thing he’s doing is generating money for himself.

This guy IS osteopathic medicine.

This is a guy who slipped through the cracks:

He never took the MCAT and never attended a real med school interview (accepted into 3+4 linkage with LECOM while in high school); he abandoned medical school for two years to pursue his modeling career, and then LECOM was crazy enough to let him come back; and he never completed a residency (so god knows what his board scores looked like).

Now there's an idiotic sociopath with "DO" after his name who's offering vitamin IVs, clitoris injections, and stem cell therapy to desperate, gullible housewives in exchange for giant heaps of money. If that's not terrifying, I don't know what is.

hahaha love all the hate!! Amazing how people who know nothing about what you do, how you do it, or how you got there can offer such hilarious commentary from behind their computer screens...

Ill be happily waiting... so just post to your wall on instagram and tag me and we will set the date ... for some reason i suspect though that once the curtain is pulled back on you guys you will shrivel up faster than a corpus cavernosum on a cold day... 😉
