So this thread got closed for no reason at all, in my opinion. And in spite of my non-mod status, I think my opinion still matters. I just read the TOS and feel it violates absolutely nothing so I would like to open it up to discussion once again.

In addition, I would like to piggy-back a totally unrelated topic onto this thread...why would a thread like this get closed while a thread in the dental forum regarding "which school has the hottest dental students" remains open. (Moreover, threads that have nothing to do with dental school -- i.e. car engines -- continue to remain open for weeks. . .) Within this "hottest" thread, SDN members openly post links to dental students' pictures and then those pictures are judged upon by other SDN members. I'm pretty sure a lot of those women would be pretty ticked off that their pics are posted in a "meat market" sort of manner. . .just some food for thought. Perhaps moderators should look at the content of threads rather than closing threads based on personal bias. My 0.02.

Why are "hottest threads" and "car threads" open while "drawbacks threads" arent? Why do you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway......Many things in life have no logic whatsoever.

I think it has to do with what the OP posted. . . . if a thread starts dental and turns into cars it is okay, but if a thread starts with cars and ends up talking about dental that is a huge NO-NO. it is in the TOS fine print by-laws. TOS: 32.6:304: pp 4-16 I believe.

Hey everyone!! 😛 😀 Thanks to those who have shown support (esp. drat & USUaggie) during this difficult time. It's been really tough being in the "SDN slammer" these past three days.

During this imprisonment, I've done a lot of weight lifting, learned how to cuss someone out in Spanish, made a shiv out of a toothbrush, and got tattoos spelling "hate" and "endo" on my fingers. I also rented a lot of movies. I chose wrongful imprisonment themed movies like The Fugitive, Ben Hur, & Tango and Cash. The movie I felt that most mirrored my situation was The Shawshank Redemption. Tim Robbins (delicious) is sent to jail for killing his wife [but he didn't]. The evil, righteous, and hypocritical warden (GavinC) finds out he's innocent, yet makes sure the truth isn't revealed. But in the end, Tim Robbins (delicious) escapes and leaks the news about the evil warden to the press, and the Warden (GavinC) blows his own brains out!! Just joking gavin!! 😱

But seriously, some people said that I didn't deserve the punishment. But there's more to the story. I wrote a hilarious post, that I admit was in pretty bad taste. But funny nonetheless. I deleted it after about ten minutes, but someone already reported it. Although there's no way I deserved to be put "on hold," one could argue that a reprimand was reasonable. However, there was no personal attack involved at all - it was pure slapstick.

I closed that thread because it 1) addressed an issue with a specific user and 2) SDN TOS asks that posts remain on topic for the *forum* that they are posted in.
