Dreaming about work

Several nights ago, I dreamed that I was handed a prescription for a new drug for a rare disease I had never heard of, and this bottle of tablets looked like Skittles (as in multi-colored) and cost in the five figures (think Revlimid), and to see if they actually worked, before dispensing them, I took a handful of them.



Ooooookay........

Anyone else?

I've been having nightmares involving the psych ward ever since I went up there to deliver meds one time. Those empty stares that you get from the pysch patients just freaked me the **** out.

I went into the psych wards many times at my old hospital, and was never frightened in the adult wards. Oh, one time in the locked ward, a man who clearly had mild MR said, "Hey, lady! You married?" and I just smiled and kept going. It turned out he always asked women that. Another time, I was delivering something to the unlocked ward and saw someone I knew. Actually, I already knew she was there but had to act like I didn't, and she was a frequent flyer too. A nice person, but a really sad situation. 🙁

The pediatric and adolescent ward, which was locked, was the really scary place. While I never felt like I was in imminent danger, some of those kids had done some really awful things, and had even worse things done to them, and the youngest ones were the most dangerous. We're talking 5- and 6-year-olds! 😱

I was just having general nightmares about work every night...like that I entered something crazy or did an override on a serious drug interaction. I haven't had any nightmares lately though, so I must be getting used to my job!

Yes I have PTSD from being abused in retail and still have flashbacks of all the nasty things customers, doctors and even other pharmacists have said to me. Thankfully I now have a job with no customer contact so I am slowly recovering.

Last night, I had a dream that I had to go to my (final?) job, the one I quit 14 months ago, and had to be there at 6am like I did half the time.

Then I woke up. 😀
