can anybody tell me if it's impt to wear a white shirt with a business suit for an interview or can we wear a colored shirt instead.

Of course you can wear a colored shirt!!
As long as you are in business attire ( no jeans, t-shirt) you are fine!
A lot of guys wear just the shirt and no tie or even no suit.

I would recommend wearing it tho. Looks professional.
