I am aware that we do have a similar thread. Do females usually wear suites when they shadow doctors. I am sort of clueless as to what I should be wearing. any tips ?

are you shadowing a specific doctor? Have you met him/her? How does that doctor dress? One of the doctors i shadowed said to dress "professional" so i never wore jeans and usually wore a button up or sweater. The other doctor (which rocks my socks) is real chilled out so he wears things like jeans and sandals so i did the same. I think it really comes down to who you're shadowing. Good luck!

i think business casual is a safe way to go..no jeans..just dress pants and a button shirt/sweater. my biggest advice for females especially is SHOES!! wear some comfy shoes or you'll be shooting your self at the end of the day 😛 i wore my boots for the first day of shadowing and i just wanted to die. the days after that i took my mom's aerosoles and my feet were happy =) i know for us ladies how cute those heels are..but if your feet aren't happy with walking all over the place then you wont be happy. i also got some dr. scholl's gel inserts and those help a ton. have fun shadowing!

Same as what edge said. I just wore khakis and a sweater. Comfy shoes is a must!

Agree with the above. I've shadowed two ER docs, a cardiologist, and a rheumatologist and on those occasions I wore business casual--slacks, a nice top/sweater, and comfy flats. However, I'm shadowing a radiologist in a few weeks and I get to wear my scrubs (I have 3 pairs for work) since I don't have a lab coat.

Excellent post bro. I'm sure this really helped everyone who's a part of this thread...
