Dress code: scrubs

Does your school have a strict policy on dress code in the clinic? I remember visiting a school during the interview process and one of the schools did not permit scrubs with print!
Does anyone know if this applies to Indiana or OHSU, in particular?

(i'm trying to make a really hard acceptance decision! dress code is one of my biggest angsts)

I don't know if this applies to the schools in question. At my school, the 1st years have to dress business casual, 2nd-4th years are all in scrubs. They have the dental seal on one side and your name on the other. Colors are different for each class and this way you know which class the student is in. Hope this helps...

you must be sitting pretty good if your biggest angst is what type of scrubs you're allowed to wear LOL

were you like a nurse for a number of years and have collected some of these said printed scrubs or something and don't feel like buying new ones??

we are required to wear dress shirt/tie everyday to class (regardless if it's clinic or just lecture). I think it's different for all schools, but for the most part I'd assume when doing clinic you should be dressing up either formally in your white coat or scrubs.

Thanks for your responses guys - I didn't realize that some schools have special scrubs for their students to wear. It's not a joke at all!! I care a lot about what I wear and was seriously considering fashion school for a while. Anyway, I just think it's excessive to be strict on dress policy and is something that won't be THE decisive factor for me, but something to keep in mind. Resorting to questions like this just means that I am having a really, really hard time choosing between 2 schools.

In IU you can wear scrub starting day one. There are 2-3 colors you can wear...blue, navy, green

Scrubs with print should only be worn by pediatric auxiliary employees

At Colorado we are required to wear scrubs in our simulation clinic (patients can see in the windows) and clinic (of course) and scrubs or business casual all other times. Scrubs are one color (navy blue) and no cargo pockets on the pants.

I consider myself a fairly "fasionable" person, but for some reason I had a real problem when I visited schools with pretty lax dress codes. With this tiny bit of wiggle room, some of the students/faculty looked put together, and others did not, and so as a whole the schools came off unprofessional to me. I think I prefer stricter dress codes. Just my opinion.
