I think most (single) dental students have one dress code in mind:
'Dress to Impress'😀

Yes we do have a dress code, it is not always strictly enforced though. In lectures the dress code is scrubs or "something nice" (no jeans, sweats, t-shirts, shorts, etc). In the simlab and clinic the dress code is more ridgidly enforced and is scrubs and (not or) whitecoat.
thank you midoc, u of d is actually one of the schools i am applying to for 2005 cycle. I appreciate you taking the time to answer

here at USC, we sign a contract talking about dress code. it says that jeans are not to be worn, and only matching scrubs or slacks and collared shirts are to be worn. talks about personal grooming as well-must be clean, hair and facial hair neat.
but it is rarely enforced. obviously when you're seeing patients, it should be enforced. but in class, we've only been warned once and that was when we had the associate dean of clinical affairs....
