Dress Code

I think something like this should be perfectly appropriate...but no more than that. :meanie:

yes yes yes
I totally agree, lol😀

actually, a pair of black sweatpants and a white coat go fine together on a nice Sunday afternoon in the pharmacy.....
Is this in a hospital pharmacy? Most of the retail chains have dress codes that do not allow sweatpants, trackpants, spandex, etc. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask us to dress at school like we will have to dress in the corporate retail world that many of us will be entering.

and 2 inchs! jesus, sounds like highschool. I haven't even seen a ruler since those days. Do they whip it out and press it against the exposed flesh?
No, I think they eyeball it and just hope that having such a rule will prevent anyone from wearing something short enough to warrant such measuring.

I applied for "Skirt measurement engineer" position at my school..........they have not called back yet.

We don't have an official "dress code," though we got a letter at the begining of last year about "professional dress," and we got another lecture about it before we started rotations this summer.

Initially I was annoyed by it, but after going to the seminar at my rotation, and seeing what some of my classmates were wearing, ... my god, they need a dress code!

What the hell are these girls thinking? Why do they think it's OK to show cleavage, thighs, and upper arms? You don't see men with sleveless shirts in business settings, nor should you see women in tank tops. This one girl had a nice looking suit on,... except that the skirt was about 6 inches above the knee. I mean, it's really embarassing what people wear. I am by no means a prude, but for god's sake, if you are trying to present yourself as a professional, DRESS like one!!! 🙄

I hate to say it, but a dress code is warranted, because the younguns today don't have enough sense to dress reasonably otherwise.

OF ALL THE TOPICS 'DRESS CODE' HUN!
Cant any body dress decent enough! whats the big deal! wear some clothes and show off skin where you can...
I always worked in a real proffessional world where I can't even wear open toed or flip flops. I am so used to that. I donot have any opentoed shoe till today! Now I am a pharmacy student.. (with out my knowledge may be some do observe and made comments) It is soooooooo embarassing to say couple days before a girl commented on me wearing my flipflops in the rest room(again not open toed!) I wonder how some are so observant!!!!1 She said I "finally dared my self wearing flipflops". May be its all because of immature thinking and not being exposed to real world!

Also, to whoever goes to Auburn...is your pharm school integrated with a med school, or adjacent to/in a hospital or something? That seems a little excessive and more like a workplace dress code...if theyre going to ban cargo pants and sneakers, they might as well make everyone wear a shirt and tie everyday.

I've been attending classes on the Auburn campus for a year now (finishing up prereqs) so I suppose I'm qualified enough to answer this question 🙂 No, there's no hospital nearby but HSOP just finished construction on a new building that incorporates an in-house pharmacy and a small scale clinic. From what I understand, these two facilities will be used (mostly) by faculty and students but will be open to the public, as well. Also, I asked a fellow classmate of mine who will be attending vet school @ Auburn in the fall and she said that they have a similar code that they must follow. Hope that helps.

We have a dress code only for one class (Professional Skills Development). If we don't comply, we can get a Fail for the class. We comply, it's a no-brainer. There are too many other opportunities for getting flunked out.

Does anyone else have a dress code at their school? They are implementing this August 1st.

There is also a dress code for days which require professional dress, but I don't think its nearly as controversial.

you don't know how lucky you are. we aren't even allowed to wear jeans, so count your blessings.

Honestly, seems like they're making pharmacy school interesting. I know when girls looked nice it made professional labs a lot better

Zpack - you with me on this one??

I don't count blessings, because I'm don't think I've got it better than anyone else.

exposed midriffs...oh my gosh so scandalous!

Unacceptable!!!:meanie:

People should post more pictures of unacceptable uniforms...so we'll know what's not appropriate!!

Im confused about this one....it has an exposed midriff, but there is a tie, which makes it Klassy right? Would this fit my dress code policy? 😕

Because a tie makes up for the exposed midriff, I vote Yes, it's acceptable.

The men of square table should issue a man law that above uniform is acceptable.
