I got a call at around 9 in the morning, and I was told that the formal card and letter are being mailed.

i haven't heard anything from them post secondary and that was complete awhile ago...i am not sure what to think. it has been a few months. i was wondering if those of you who have interviewed or had information of the # of secondary apps how many they interview and then how many they accept. any information would be great. thanks!!!

To answer your quesiton, roughly 200 people interview at Drew and about 50 acceptances are sent out. I don't know how many secondary applications have been sent out so far but I would guess that by the end of this whole process about 500 of them would have been sent out - but don't quote me on that. Good luck and may the Force be with you.

thanks jedi for the info...i guess they are pretty slow. but i haven't really heard from any school in the past couple of weeks anyways. good luck to you too!!

After a 2-week hibernation, I emerged to hear @ an interview from Drew! I think they sent the postcard @ the week of X-mas. Unfortunately, the postcard had 2 options (i.e. interview or not) and they forgot to check which one! My friend who got my mail while i was away scared me when he told me that it was blank. Anyhow, i emailed/called this week & Wanda Hall just emailed back some possible dates. At this time, it sounds like they're scheduling @ Feb. After scheduling the date by email, they'll send interview details by mail.

As far as the stats, I've heard #'s similar to what Jedi mentioned. Wish all Drew applicants the best! Now I've got to get back to catching up on the 20 pages of threads i missed during the holidays. Gosh, I really missed SDN! 😉

I got an email before I got the postcard for my Drew interview on 11/21.

By the way, is there anyone out there who interviewed at Drew early and has heard anything? Its been awhile since 11/21, and I haven't heard any news positive or negative.

Hey UCSBPre-Med1,

I have an interview on the 11 of Jan @ Drew. How was your interview? How long did they say they'd take to inform you of their decision? Any tips?

The last "group" interview date is May 10th. (What I mean by "group" is not that students are interviewed as a group, but that a group of students are invited to the Drew campus to meet the staff and each other and are interviewed individually.) The first "group" comes this Saturday. Students who cannot come on a Saturday, can arrange to interview on a weekday. Though I stated May 10th as the last "group" date, that does not mean that individual students won't be invited to come at later dates.

thanks for the info jedi! by that do you mean that they are seriously interviewing through may...that makes me feel so much better b/c i haven't heard + or - from any school in about a month...i guess b/c of the holidays and all...i guess i shouldn't complain b/c at least i didn't hear bad news ....

Um, the first group was November 21. I was there. 😀

Well, for the Drew interview, I'd make sure that you know your activities well, especially the ones that deal with underserved communities. The day was long, with a lot of downtime, but I think the medical center (King/Drew Med Center) will be an awesome learning experience for any student that goes there. Just know your file well, and have fun. 😀

The first Saturday group interview session is this weekend. You must have interviewed with a rare Thursday group.

It was the first day of interviews at Drew, and it showed.

Pretty disorganized, but still fun.

thanks again for the info jedi!!! good luck!!

Is the order of interview based on a first-come first serve basis? Does anyone know how long the interview day could potentially last?

When I went to my Drew interview...

It was first come first serve for interview times. The earlier you showed up, the earlier your 1 interview was.

If you have a late interview (like I did) expect to be there until at least 4pm. For an early, I'd say you could leave at about 2 (after the tour).

If you want to interview early, try sitting in the front of the room, since they pass @ the list from the front--however, you might be called out to interview while Dr. Miller is giving his talk. @ 10-11, they serve a hot brunch, then show a bunch of videos. I sat near the middle and it worked out fine since I wanted to hear what he had to say. I interviewed @ 1 pm, then went on the tour, and finished @ 3.

They're more organized this year. When I got out of my interview, they were almost done interviewing everyone. I think the latest anyone was there was 3:30 or 4.
