Drexel Acceptances?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It'd be nice if they'd balance some of these rejects and waitlists with some acceptances...still keeping my fingers crossed!

coolio could you post when did you interview and when did you hear back?

Good afternoon everyone, I interviewed on 10/17, had a decision made on the 26th and now waiting for news, keep your fingers crossed.

It doesn't look good, but :luck:
Most letters sent out to the out of state peeps at this point >90% have been rejections

In that case, I hope they don't send me a letter yet.

Evening all,
I called the admissions office this afternoon and they said that decisions made last Thursday were not sent out until today which seems to be the pattern so keep holding your breath everyone.

does everyone who accepted first get that "final decision has been made" notice?

how do you know what day the 'final decision' status was updated? do you just check it everday?

I just checked mine & that's what it was updated to!!! I live in Philly, am tempted to call & say PLEASE can I just walk over & you can hand me whatever news there is?!

My boss wouldn't look too kindly on me asking to sit at home everyday until the mail came...

I interviewed 10/10 & 10/11 (MD/PhD) but they said the MD program may let us know before the combined program would since the MD committee met more frequently.

Ugh. This isn't any fun at all!

does everyone who accepted first get that "final decision has been made" notice?

Hey all, looks like this thread has really taken off since I first made it. To clarify a little, I was accepted to Drexel in the first week that offers were made through snail mail dated 10/15. I did in fact receive a status change to "Final Decision has been made ... " a few days before 10/15, so at least in my own experience, that status led to an acceptance.

I'm sorry to hear that many of you have not received an acceptance following the status change. Although I am currently holding my spot, I will most likely be declining it in the near future, freeing up at least one more position in the class. Best of luck to all who have yet to hear back.

When did you get your letter?

I got a snail mail invite from Jefferson dated 10/26 that didn't arrive in my mail box (a whole 2 miles away!) until 11/3. Makes me wonder if they really mail things when they type them out? Why don't they just let us know over the internet?!

My Drexel acceptance showed up on 10/19, 4 days after it was dated, so not too terrible. Btw, I live 30 miles or so outside philly.

Jefferson sends snail mail invites? Interesting ... it was email only for me until a 10/17 phone call for acceptance, then the letter showed up a week later on 10/24. But yeah, I feel that the postal service takes the longest route possible on most days, haha.

That's the great thing-- 10/18 I received email invite for the MD/PHD program, confirm etc. Then I receive this nice paper invite that is EXACTLY the same thing the sent me via email weeks earlier! Why waste the time, money & paper to get me the news a few weeks later? Ridic.

Well I have been complete for awhile now and my status still reads No decision available, and not even a letter in the mail yet. OH the waiting!! 😀

How long have you been complete? Look at the rejects/waitlist/interview threads to see how far along they are.

does anyone know if the $100 deposit is refundable???

I thought it had to be refundable until 5/15, the date after which you can't hold multiple acceptances?

Am dying here... I wanna go home to check my mail, dammit. Wish I knew which day my status changes. Am very tempted to just stop by, it's really not far from me... haha. I suppose a phone call would be more sane than showing up though. I want to know so I can cancel another interview.

I gave them a call and they said that they send out notifications 6-8 weeks. So for those that interviewd at the earliest date, I assume that notifications will be sent out in the 3rd week of November.

I rang them today.

My decision was made on Friday.

The letters haven't been sent, or even printed yet! They expect to have them printed by tomorrow afternoon & they're going to hold a copy of my letter at the office for me to pick up!:scared:

chylo,

did your status change online?

Yep, I checked it Monday night & got the "A decision has been made & a letter will be mailed to your preferred address" message.

Ahk! Why bother updating it if you're not going to send, or even print, the letters out? I really, really wish they'd just let us know over the computer.

I'm going to pick mine up this afternoon!:scared:

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if it's the same deal as undergrad? Big envelope is the jackpot, and thin small envelopes means you take a hit on your self esteem?

Thanks!

Wow I think we may have uncovered a mutant strain of pre-med anal...I'm just as anxious to hear as everyone else, but let's take a reality check folks👍

Aw, come on... I have reasons to be this crazy, I swear 😛

Plus it's hardly out of my way to stop there after work-- worth being over-eager for having the notice a few days early!

Jamilla_w, I have been complete since september. It's just weird that everyone else is hearing something and I haven't. Not a big deal it's all good!!

Good luck to you Chylo! Let us know the decision.

sorry if this was covered somewhere and I didn't see....I was just wondering how Drexel notifies people of interview invites. Thanks!

I just got accepted to drexel!

Interviewed 9/26, Status online changed to 'decision made and mailed' 11.2 (after ~2 weeks of it saying 'under review by admissions committee') and my letter came via mail today 11.9.

Good luck to everyone else.

Good luck to you Chylo! Let us know the decision.

Letters weren't ready Wednesday (after the decision was made on Friday, 11/2) because they weren't signed yet. I wasn't in town Thu/Fri so I couldn't stop by to pick up a copy of it.

Congrats ScrubUP. Do you live very close to drexel? The ad office people said the letters would go out Thursday... I'm not far from them, so I hope to have my letter this afternoon. I'm SO sick of waiting!!

(Even after I get this letter, which I'm assuming is w/r/t the MD degree, I still have to wait to hear from the MD/PhD people.)

Yeah, I live extremely close. The letter was dated Tuesday, but postmarked Thursday, and somehow made it to my mailbox by Friday.

I got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday (Interviewed 10/17) and I am also very close to Drexel.

Still no mail for me!!

This is archaic... I can't even stay at home next week & wait for mail because I've got interviews. Okay okay that's not really something to complain about but geesh, I'd really, really like to hear from them! Why can't they just call us?

Deucedano, did your status change on the website? Mine still isn't, and I interviewed a day before you did :scared:

Im not sure what you mean by changed, but my Status page says "A final decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to your preferred address." It has said that since I checked it last week.

That what mine said too. My decision was made on 11/2 & wasn't mailed until at least 11/8. The admissions office wouldn't let me pick up the letter on Wed (the dean was out & they were unsigned) but thought the letters would go out Thursday.

Am very envious of those of you that got your letters already!!

Not to be the downer or anything, but how does Drexel inform you post-interview if you are rejected? Is it also snail mail?

i dunno if i'm being paranoid or not...but my status finally changed to "a decision has been made and letter sent" I kno that some of you guys have the status as "a FINAL decision has been made." Am i just going insane?

Yes you are being paranoid. I think you are reading into this wayyyy to much. Take a deep breath and go do something that will keep your mind off it.

And the post office is closed tomorrow, no letters!!!

Agggghk.

so, i'm a little confused. about how long after your interview did you get the rejection or acceptance? was it really 4-6 weeks like they said?

I interviewed 10/10, decision was made 11/2. I have yet to receive my actual letter, but I'm hoping it's in the mail today.

I interviewed on 10/17 and got my letter on 11/9 (letter dated 11/6) so less than 4-6 weeks. I think they just say that in case it takes longer for some reason.

On a different note, anyone know if we loose our "deposit" to save our spot if we choose to go somewhere else. Im guessing we do but I dont know and would rather not call them and ask.
