So I'm applying to Drexel (deadline is tomorrow) and I just ran into a potential problem.

As part of the application, they require you to fill out an online "faculty ranking form." Before I had filled that out, I was under the impression that I would be able to submit my resume online as part of the form. I did indeed get the chance to fill in a good deal of information about my research and clinical experience, GPA, etc. -- but there was no place to actually upload a document.

Is anybody else applying there? Does anybody know whether we're also supposed to send a paper copy of our resumes, or was this section of the faculty ranking form meant to replace that?

Never mind, just talked to the admissions person at Drexel and figured it out.

In case anybody else was confused about this issue, they do want an extra copy of your resume and personal statement. However, you don't have to send it by snail mail; you can email it straight to the admissions person.

Whew!

Glad it all worked out 🙂

I'm not applying til next year but this makes me wonder what happens if you do have a question with the application? Do you just email the admissions people? Are they generally helpful?

Thanks!

Yep, that tends to work well at most programs. (Some websites are much better than others about posting instructions and FAQs.) Everyone I've spoken to in admissions has been quite helpful, or at least kind enough to forward me on to someone knowledgeable.

Yup, I've had the same experience. Once you get ahold of someone in admissions, they're happy to help; the biggest problem is often finding them in the first place. If you do find the right email address/phone number, I'd recommend writing it down so you don't have to search all over the place more than once.

Hey I'm applying there too! What professor(s) do you want to work with?

Also, April Torgun (admissions person you probably contacted) is GREAT!!!!!

Yeah, she's awesome -- she was the one who helped me figure this out and stop freaking out.

I'm hoping to work with one of the neurorehabilitation people. How about you?

Same here on the neurorehabilitation. Right now my top choice is Dr. Chute. Drexel's a long shot for me though, but hey who knows.

I had the same problem. Though I didn't realize they wanted an extra copy of my personal statement. I had snail-mailed my resume and letters and such, but was confused when it wasn't complete. Luckily I realized it before the deadline. Ms. Torgun is so on top of things!!

I'm hoping to work in Forensics. It's my top choice, so I hope I at least stand a little bit of a chance. It makes me so nervous how competitive it is!!
