Hello to all:
I'll be interviewing for an Advanced Standing status at Drexel next week. I wanted to know if anyong out there could shed some light on what to expect. I've got lots of questions so I'll just through some of them out there; if you have any additional advice/info regarding Drexel, East Falls, Advanced Standing Admissions process please post or PM me. Thanks to all.
My q's:
1. Are there positions in either the 2nd or 3rd class
2. Are you Drexel students generally happy? Important question because I certainly don't want to go from one unhappy situation to another (needless to say, I'm not happy where I'm at or I wouldn't have applied to transfer). That being said, I'm VERY impressed with Drexel and am excited for the interview.
3. How do rotations work with all the hospitals to choose from?
4. Advanced Standing students admitted to Problem-Based curriculum?
5. Board passage?
6. Advanced Standing Admissions process?

Thanks to all.

do a search in the pre-allopathic thread on drexel. I just submitted a summary entitled, "all about drexel" about a week ago. i do know of one student that is transferring out of drexel to oregon so technically there is an open spot for second year. as far as happinness goes, I'd say we all get along pretty well. as far as boards are concerned, we're pretty much on par w/ national average as I understand although there have been some classes in the past (2-3y ago) that didn't fare so well.. good luck and hope things work out for you.

btw, there is NO advanced standing transfer into the pil program as I understand. You can transfer from pil to ifm, but NOT vice versa. our ifm program is great so i wouldn't worry.
other things i forgot to mention in my original post:
1. all exams are multiple choice for ifm, written for pil.
2. not doing well in a class? don't fret. the administration will put you in touch w/ a tutor who aced the class FREE of charge!

bb and everyone,
Thanks for the info. and the referral to last week's post; most helpful. What year are you? Rotations information? I couldn't find anything with the search option.

Thanks bb for all the great info.
