Any opinions? I'm not very familiar with either program...

i dont know details but from what i have heard temple is definitely superior to drexel

I don't know much about temple. I believe they have a bigger program. I asked my ophtho chairman last year concerning Drexel vs. Temple and he recommended Drexel (Honestly I Don't know why he recommended it maybe the chairs know each other).
As for Drexel I can tell you a little since I matched into it this year. I know that several years back the program was in a painful transition from being a satellite office/Hahnnaman to being owned by Drexel. The transition has been completed and the program is stable and not folding any time soon or even close to folding. Currently Drexel U. has a vested interest in improving the ophtho department and contributing financially. A bunch of new equipment was bought not too long ago due to the support from the university. I believe the department is going paperless (don't know if transition completed). Also there are talks on upgrading the ophtho dept from it's current location on broad st.(no idea when this will happen) You rotate at several hospitals: hahnnaman, graduate hospital, St. christopher's children hospital, and wilkes-barre VA (it's like 2 hours from philly and rotate there during 2nd and 3rd year). The program has no fellowship positions so all cases benefit the residents. The program is comprised of 3 residents per year. The chair of the dept is Dr. Yanoff (I personally didn't know who he was until I meet him. He wrote some pretty popular books, pretty well known in the field). There was rumor that he was leaving, but he is not. the program is fully accredited. Usually about half go into private practice after residency and the other half go into fellowship. Last year I believe 2 residents went to fellowship and the third into private practice. The program is not U. Penn or Wills but it provides good training and gets people into fellowship.
My recommendation would be try to go to both interviews if you can and decided for your own self. You might be able to fit both interviews in one day if you schedule wisely. Good Luck for all those matching this year.

Thanks for your insight. I will interview there because I like Philadelphia.👍

All I know about temple is the scutwork review... not impressed. I read their website, they have a whopping 4 attendings???? Drexel sounds better.
