I just had two glasses of Sean Minor's Pinot Noir. Yum!
Are you making decisions that you normally wouldn't?

Man you sound like a good time.
I drink with coresidents and other residents from nearby all the time...hell it wouldn't be residency if there weren't alcohol after hours. Plus our local orgs keep having events at bars. Met several potential employers that day.
Rule of thumb: drink, but don't be more faded than someone that might hire you. Done.
No I'm just smarter, older and wiser and can still have a good time.
This guy is awfully good at throwing insults around the internet while hiding behind his anonymity. I don't know smercer, and neither does he yet he claims to be smarter. Why don't you either add to the discussion or leave it be, your comments are absurd. Chances are if you were smarter and wiser, you would have much better things to do than derail threads and talk about how smart you are.
It screams anti-social and lonely.😴
I also know i will never get hammered and behave inappropriately. I only do that with hot residents.![]()
I thought you were supposed to get them hammered and behave inappropriately.

drink RESPONSIBLY
I would keep my personal life outside work. Alcohol tends to make you say/do things you dont intend around your co-workers and you only need 1 of those to get screwed. Go in, do you job, get out, then you can get wasted with friend you love and trust 🙂
There are a few coworkers that I hang out with outside of work (like 2 or 3) and many more I would never even think about hanging out with.
Our work tries to set up "happy hours" and then are always "unhappy to mildy depressing hours." I've stopped going....
Why so depressing?
"Still, research supports the idea that nondrinkers have a harder time climbing the corporate ladder. Multiple studies have shown that moderate drinkers earn more money than those who dont drink, though heavy drinkers earn less than moderate drinkers."
If it were possible to drink responsibly it certainly wouldn't be in ads for alcohol. It's like saying play with your loaded gun responsibly or smoke your heroin responsibly.
Alcohol in any amount impairs your judgement.
That is quite ridiculous. If I accidently swallow some of my alcohol-containing mouthwash while gargling before work, I am still going to work and my judgement will not be at all impaired. There is obviously a certain amount (that will vary from individual to individual) that must be injested before judgement impairment occurs.
Whydo you feel a need to drink?
Just because people enjoy drinking, does mean they "need" to drink. There are many things in life I enjoy, besides drinking....chocolate, walking in the woods, WII games, etc. I don't "need" any of those things, but I enjoy those things, so there is no reason I shouldn't indulge in them, in reasonable amounts & under reasonable circumstances. Different people enjoy different things, if you don't enjoy drinking (or can't enjoy it because you drink to excess, have health problems, etc.) then of course, you shouldn't drink. But just because you don't/can't enjoy drinking, doesn't mean that nobody should. We are all individuals and have our individual enjoyments in life, and that is the way it should be.
It's all about the money man. It's unfortunate that people are so weak and lack confidence in their abilities that they need to add the after office drink to their resume to advance or keep their job. The tortoise not the hare usually wins the race.
