Hello...I'm a US Allopathic applicant with 13 integrated vascular surgery interviews. Step 1 236, Step 2 CK 215 (just released).
My application for the most part is fine for the specialty...great LORs, strong research, and strong commitment to vascular....but due to a family situation while on a sub-I, I had very little time to study for CK (<3-4 hours a week) and had to take it by my school's deadline despite not being ready.
I don't want to hide anything or be dishonest with any PD. What/when is the best way to communicate this to programs without hurting my chances significantly?
