So I'm a senior engineering student. My application is in and I'm very confident in an acceptance. I'm currently in 12 hours of class with 2 grad classes pass fail. One class is senior design that exempts me from the 12 hour full time student rule. One of non pass fail classes is really boring and has a ton of busy work. Anyway, I want to drop it. This leaves my schedule looking pretty bare though. If medical schools ask (which I personally doubt they will), I plan on citing spending too much time in senior design as my reasoning. Do you guys think this is ok?

I dont have any non-homework grades in the class yet. So it's not about grades, I just hate the class and I have alot of other work.

If it doesn't hurt your required graduation credits and you know you can get through the classes with the highest grade/pass possible then go for it. However I would recommend coming up with a better reason for dropping the class. Something along the lines of saving the world or adopting a foreign kid. I kid, but seriously, be prepared for a question about it and come up with a a good excuse.

So far only one school has asked me about my schedule this year and they weren't probing whatsoever; more like an ice-breaker.

Obviously, I can't speak for a lot of schools since my sample is small. I would talk to your adviser because this seems really situation dependent.
