So, I was originally an accounting major, but I plan on switching my major to economics next semester. I'm currently taking a 300-level accounting course that I will not need to graduate. I just took the first exam of the course and got a 56. There are only two more exams and each account for a third of my grade.
I may be able to raise my grade to a B-, but there is a strong possibility I may wind up with a C in this course. The next exam is after the last day to drop a course so it's not as if I can wait to see how I do on it.
If I drop this course, it'll be the first and only W on my transcript. However, I'll be down to 13 credits and it'll be the second semester I took under 15 credits- In second semester of my freshman year I only took 12 credits of courses since I was lazy, not pre-med at the time, and had the AP credits to do so.
Should I drop this course or stay and risk a C?
*Edit*: I spoke to my advisor and found that over the next 3 semesters, I'll be taking 18, 18, and 17 credits respectively, so that may work to offset the fact that I had two semesters of under 15 credits.
