On my app i said i would take Biochemistry and Developmental bio in the spring.. Im thinking of dropping developmental all together and Im thinking of taking Biochemistry Online through another University...
this should be after an acceptance but i will be interviewing at a school im very interested in the end of January..
what do you guys think? will a school care that i took biochem, post acceptance via an online course??
Will they be pissed that i didn't take developmental? at the very least i would want to switch in anatomy instead of developmental..
(i posted this in another thread but it got buried..)

But it will look fine.
Just explain well....but I guess I tried to drop some courses, but it would not look nice so I decided to finish it.

I guess it will not look good, but well....
I guess it would depend on y u dropping it

I just interviewed at UoP and they said "If you get accepted, it is contingent upon you getting a 'B' or better in the courses you have laid out to take (on AADSAS). Any courses you decide to change or not take should be cleared with the admissions committee." I didn't get the feeling that it would be that big of deal to drop classes after an acceptance, but let them know. Hope this helps.

i think the online part might be the drawback here. and i would definitely recommend taking anatomy instead of development, it will be more helpful later on.

but like the others said, check with the school you're interviewing at in jan..and see what they say. my advice would be to go with anatomy in an inclass setting.

for the fall semester i said i was going to take biochem and molecular bio and i ended up not taking it...because i had to finish up my major. I didn't even put anything for the spring semester. I'm going to take biochem for the spring with physicsII...I mean is that a problem? By the time to upgrade my fall grades, it's going to be a different schedule then what I've listed on aadsas. I'm going to have all of my pre-regs though.

Just the school i was worried about.. i didnt want to say on my interview that i wasnt going to take a certain course because i thought it would affect my chanced to be admitted..

i guess i would ask them if i could take anatomy instead.. I will also ask if i could make it pass/fail as well..

I think this will make it far less stressful..

would be nice to have some "time off" to work but i guess its not that important... but if i do take biochem (w/o lab) online, then i could work..

Where are you taking biochem online? I may need to do that too...

What university offers these science courses online?

I thought that you just have to meet the minimum requirements from each school. Like If I get in a dental school that doen't require the classes I listed on AADSAS, I won't take them. Did I get the right or am I still obliged to take those classes?

I read that NYU requires 6-8 credit hrs of organic chem. At my school organic chem is offered in 3 courses I have taken the first 2, and they are 3 CREDIT (not semester) hrs each..am I okay or do I need to take the third one? and do I need labs?

Hmm that's strange. In most schools I know, orgo is broken down to two semester and depending on what type of school you go to, each semester is either 3 or 4 credits (private schools are 4 credits/semester, while public are 3).

my school has a quarter system so that is why we have 3 orgo classes. I actually took it at another university which offers a accelerated program equivalent to the first 2 orgos at my school.

according to my school I would get 6 Credit hrs and according to them I would get 4 semester hrs.

so will I be okay since I have 6 quarter hrs or no?
