If a D.O. student applies via the allopathic match to 15+ EM programs, but one or two are dual accredited (DO/MD), what happens? For example, would they not rank you, since they've already accepted their D.O. students in the AOA match?

I thought the NRMP match was just for the MD positions, and that DO positions are run by the AOA....sorry not much knowledge here about the DO application, but i would think that the DO spots are taken in dual accredited programs. maybe some posts by folks who know more than me will be beneficial, but I saw a great opportunity to postpad.

Yeah there are a number of people who are knowledgeable about the DO process.. your answer will arrive shortly I am sure.

There are only 2 dually accredited AOA/ACGME programs that I know of anyway...Einstein in Phili, and one in New Jersey. Last I checked they told me they would take a DO through the NRMP match as well. They do have a quota that they like to have (a minimum that end up matching AOA match only in February) but they have no "cap" on DO's. So you can end up through ACGME match in one of their programs. They will usually allow you to use whichever match you want to apply to their program as a DO.

Thanks corpsman.
