Dually accredited residency programs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Suppose an allopathic medical student interviews at a dually accredited (AOA and ACGME) residency program. In terms of their odds of matching at such a program, are they at a disadvantage relative to the DO students who interview at the same program?

I doubt it. If an MD student is interviewing there that is probably a sign that program sees potential in that student and will thus be perceived equally among any interviewees who are DO's. If a PD for an AOA program wanted to, they could simply interview only DO grads and/or make their program have specific OMM requirements that would lock out MD grads.

It's not like the majority of MD grads want to enter an AOA/ACGME program anyways since most are vying for university programs as supposed to community programs (which largely compose AOA residencies), so you have nothing to worry about.
