Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on making a final decision before the April deadline. I am a Missouri resident who has been accepted to Dublin, SGU, and LIU. Wait-listed/alternate for Mizzou and Iowa.

I'm currently debating between Dublin and St. George's. If my math is right, it seems like SGU should be the more cost effective option in terms of tuition and housing. I've heard great things about both programs and really enjoyed my interviews with both. Ireland sounds like a dream, and it's probably what I'd choose if SGU wasn't an option. However, my partner would ideally move with me wherever I go.

Does anyone have any advice/experience with either schools as far as bringing an SO down goes? We're looking into the digital nomad visa for SGU, but Dublin looks trickier. They are in social work currently.

Appreciate any advice and thoughts on these universities!

If it was just you, I would attend UCDublin but with a partner it makes it very tricky.

I don’t have a ton to offer about SGU but I know it can have some of its own issues.

I toured UCDublin this week and absolutely LOVED it. Gorgeous city and gorgeous facilities and really cheap food on campus. If you are accepted into the 4 year program, I think it might be more cost effective in tuition possibly than SGU, but housing is possibly more expensive than SGU.

Bringing a SO to dublin would be entirely contingent on them getting their own visa to live there. Since the program isn’t considered a “doctorate” level there, you are not able to bring dependents on your visa. They would need to get a job to sponsor their work visa, which is hard but doable. SGU on the other hand doesn’t have opportunities outside of SGU for work, unless your partner had a remote job and just lived on island with you somehow through other kinds of visas. Both not easy to bring a partner but doable if you are dedicated/ willing to put in the work
