I am currently in the process in deciding between these two schools. I am interested in pursuing large animal medicine, particularly production. I am from NJ so obviously penn is way closer. Cost wise penn is more tuition every year but I think that there is going to be a lot of hidden costs if I live in Ireland (visa flights home etc). Does anyone have any thoughts?

Visa is free for Ireland if I’m correct! The flights would definitely add extra money but the tuition at dublin (around 45k USD) vs UPENN oos (74,276k) is astronomically different. That’s essentially an extra 30k accruing interest every year for your entire 4 years. At 8% interest essentially adding an extra 10k of loans before you have even graduated (around 24k of accrual total when you do the entire 74/75k at 8%) (I just did quick math so def check all of this haha) but idk. To me, UPENN is not worth the 75k a year tuition price for oos. Very difficult decision I see both sides. But I still believe Dublin will be cheaper
