Hey everyone,
I've recently come across a program run by Duke Med/the Singaporean government that allows students to study the Duke Med curriculum for 4 years and earn an MD degree, as one would in the U.S. (http://www.duke-nus.edu.sg/index.php?Admissions).
The MD is jointly conferred by Duke and NUS (National University of Singapore).
Does anyone know how this degree would be received in the U.S.?
I'm an American citizen, but I was born in Singapore. My first language was Hokkien Chinese, one of the most common dialects in Singapore, and my Mandarin is decent. Most importantly, I'm (as you can tell) fluent in English, Singapore's primary administrative language. To me, going back to Singapore for medical school could be appealing, but at the end of the day I'd like to have the finest medical education I can, and I don't know whether I'd want to stay and practice there forever.
Would this program hold water in the U.S.? How difficult is it/ how does one obtain the right to practice in the U.S. if educated abroad? Thanks!
