This is the only secondary where I didn't meet the "deadline." (Actually, it's not a deadline, it just says that it is highly recommended that I return the application within two weeks. It's been about 4.) Does anybody know if Duke is really stringent about this? Would I be wasting my time and money if I completed it now? I can call the school, but I thought I'd see if there were SDNers out there who had some input first.

Yeah, I didn't finish it on time either.

I figure I don't have much shot at Duke, so I'm not desperate to get their app. out. I'm focusing right now on schools that I have a more realistic chance of getting into.

And I'm sure if Duke got an application from top notch candidate after their "deadline", they would still take him.

Don't disqualify yourselves yet. Duke is really good about these applications(even though I thought it was way way too long). Turn them in! You're not an admissions officer. You are not qualified and have no "title" to judge your competitiveness. *wink* If you turn in your Duke application, you'll be surprised how fast they respond to you for interviews! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice and pep talk! I'll finish it this weekend and see what happens...
